BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — This year's seemingly never-ending winter has slowed construction in Bismarck.

Roxy Jacobson, executive director of the Bismarck-Mandan Homebuilders Association, says that residential construction is down 35 percent in Bismarck compared to this time last year.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that as of April 17, 166 single-family building permits had been issued in the state's capital city. This time last year, there were 221. The total number of permits has dropped as well — from 650 last year to 424 this year.
