BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck woman accused of leaving two toddlers home alone has pleaded guilty to felony child abuse or neglect.
Twenty-six-year-old Bonnie Packineau was accused of leaving a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl home alone on March 12. Authorities say a neighbor found the boy outside in 15-degree weather, screaming.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that Packineau told officers she went to Mandan to pick up a friend and could not handle all of her children in the car. She said during an earlier court appearance that she has a 7-month-old and a 5-year-old.
Packineau could face up to 10 years in prison. A sentencing date was not immediately set.
