Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The UND softball team has put together a streak of its own. They've had eight straight games canceled because of the weather.

North Dakota hasn't played a game since April 3rd. And things are beginning to get tricky. UND is 2-4 in Big sky play and can't afford to have any more conference games canceled because it would leave them ineligible for the conference tournament.

But, right now coaches and players are just trying to improve on what they can control.

Eric Oakley, UND Head Coach: “Our record indicates that we've struggled a little bit. I certainly was expecting a little more out of our offense early on and our pitching has been inconsistent. The good news is we still have Big Sky season, that's what it's all about.”

Amanda Johnson, UND Jr. Outfielder: “We have high expectations. All these conference games are going to be tough and we need to give it all we got in order to win these games.”

UND is scheduled to play South Dakota at home on Tuesday. Their next conference series starts Friday at Idaho State.
