Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Bison football fans are used to seeing huge guys line up front; and in the past couple of seasons it's not been limited to the offensive line. NDSU has found some giants at tight end. It started with 6'8 Matt Veldman.

And they hope it continues with 6'5 sophomore Luke Albers.

Albers has nearly the same body makeup of Veldman. He spent most of last season as a blocker, not catching a pass; but he's ready to show off the skills that some compare to Veldman this spring.

Luke Albers- NDSU Sophomore Tight End: "When I came my freshman year, he was here and I tried to base my game off him. In high school I was kind of like him a little bit too, flex out tight end. I wasn't much in the line I was flexed out and a route runner and stuff like that. We where similar coming out of high school, watching his game my freshman year, just progressing and practicing with him I really based a lot of my stuff off him and he was my mentor. Just with my size and my hands and skills definitely causes matchup problems in the secondary with curtin schemes and stuff like that is part of it."

Albers is getting plenty of reps

with NDSU's other 2 tight ends sitting

out the spring...the second scrimmage
