Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Come Saturday we are three weeks away from the Minnesota fishing opener; and with temperatures still bordering 40 degrees it's sure to make anglers curious about what kind of bite there will be.

Tonight the F-M Walleyes held their monthly meeting, bringing in Mr. Tiller, Pete Harsh, who's described as one of the true legends of competitive walleye fishing and we asked him the best spots to hit come mid-May.

Pete Harsh, Walleye Expert: “For early morning, late low light periods are going to be the most active bite. Real clear water where there is some current running in and where it's muddy you will have a day time bite but right now I would say head to the prairie lakes, the shallow prairie lakes for the opener. Big, deep lakes, they won't be going.”
