Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Some Clara Barton Hawthorne 4th graders are paying it forward in a big way.

Students in Mrs. Scholand's class were given the opportunity through Junior Achievement and Bell State Bank to give $1,000 dollars to a group or organization of their choice.

Students chose fellow Oak Grove 4th grader Jordan Peterson. He's living in Texas right now awaiting a double lung transplant. Students were able to meet Jordan through face time and give him the check.

Gabe Simonson, 4th Grade: “Pretty good, like since he hasn't got his lungs yet I think he's really happy.”

Jordan’s father was on hand to accept the money. He says Jordan is currently at the top of the list for the transplant.
