FARGO – This morning’s late-season snowfall will likely only drop two inches here, but Fergus Falls could see twice that, according to the National Weather Service.

“It will be a slow mover. We’ll be on the fringes, so we’re not expecting much, but they could see four to five inches in Fergus Falls,” said Brad Hopkins, a weather service meteorologist in Grand Forks.

That was a part of the region that got off relatively lightly in the major snowstorm Sunday and Monday, with the heaviest amounts between Bismarck and Jamestown. Fargo received roughly 10 inches in that storm.

Hopkins said he expects Grand Forks to get only an inch during this latest snow event, with the heaviest part of the snowfall hitting around Arrowhead, Minn. Winds are expected to top out with gusts around 20 miles per hour.

Hopkins said the storm will likely hang around in the region until sometime late Thursday or early Friday.
