Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- After more than 10 years of "wishful thinking," the F-M Curling Club is finally set to break ground on its new curling club.

The 2.7 million dollar facility will include 6 sheets of ice and an upper deck for viewing.

A lot of the funds came from members, area business and matching grants.

The club's manager says they've outgrown their current building, which was built in 1968, but that's not all.

Evan Workin- F-M Curling Club: "When the ground thaws it's sand base, so when the ground shifts we don't have very even curling ice, so it makes it a real challenge for a lot of the members here."

The groundbreaking is next Thursday beside the Southwest Youth Ice Arena.
