Counseling officials say parents should be careful when watching the news coverage or talking about the events in front of children.

Typically children can't fully comprehend theses types of events and it could lead to fear.

It can also cause anxiety for adults.

Joni Medenwald- Clinical Supervisor at The Village: "Talk about things if you feel that something is really disturbing, some of your thought processes during the day, or it's really realing through your head a lot, you know maybe talking with a friend, a family member, if you feel like it's really causing a disruption maybe seeking out a counselor."

Mendenwald says it's important to stick to your schedule and to stay busy with usual activities.
