Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- It's amazing what a win can do these days in the NHL. Just 24 hours ago, the Minnesota Wild were on playoff life support, losers of five of their last 6 games.

Fast forward to today and things look so much better after a 4-3 win

in Calgary last night.

Mikko Koivu opened the scoring, but the real standout was new acquisition Jason Pominville, who scored twice.

Which included an assist from Matt Cullen; who returned as the Wild moved up to 6th in the West standings.

Jason Pominville- Scored Two Goals Last Night: "Think everyone has done a good job of making me feel comfortable; coaching staff putting in every situation give you confidence to play; not think too much, not worry

about the rest; it's trying to carry over; we were good with the puck, made their D, made them work, we do that we're a dangerous team when you turn pucks over; you do that makes it tough on ourselves."

No rest for the weary. Wild play at Edmonton tonight. A team that just cleaned house with it's general manager, 8:30 faceoff.
