Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- An act of vandalism is costing Cass County Electric more than 40-thousand dollars.
More than 400 people living near Harwood were without power for about two hours Sunday night. After someone fired shots at an electrical switch.
Crews found holes from 12-bullets, and have been working to make repairs.
People living nearby say this is a common problem, with people coming to the area and shooting, but Cass County Electric officials say it's new to them
Marshal Albright- Cass County Electric: “Someone evidently was using our equipment as target practice, which we don't really like to see. They shot 12 holes into our switch, causing a major outage for this area.”
The Cass County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Anyone with more information is asked to contact them.
