Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- 16 people are our area were registered for the Boston marathon.

A Henning, Minnesota man had just finished the race, and was with his family when the blast happened right by the finish line. Ben Geyer is locked down right now in the house he's renting. He and his family are staying right off the race route, in between the 2 spots where the bombs went off.

Ben was 1 to 2 blocks away from the finish line when the explosion happened. He was actually walking that way with his wife and children, mom and a friend from Fargo.

Ben says there was a pause, then a cluster. Emergency personnel on hand went racing toward the explosion as the competitors were trying to flee. He said the bang was unbelievable and they literally felt the shake.

Ben/Phone Interview: "The ground shook, you heard the blast and everyone around me just looked around like what was it? Was it a finishing cannon? But then all of the news comes out and everyone is running everywhere and you realize it was not planned."

Ben and his family got put on lockdown before he had a chance to eat, this is after he ran a full marathon, the police officer stationed outside his building gave up his supper to Ben. More on this story coming up tonight at 10.
