Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Tonight, city leaders will decided if they need to step up the flood fight.
Our late snow storm has engineers re-assessing how high the river could rise.
If the crest prediction rises, City Engineers say we might have to re-open Sandbag Central to prepare for a bigger threat.
Right now, Fargo has 1.25 million sandbags, and the city is prepared to protect to 42 feet. But to protect to 43 feet, it takes about 2 million bags.
Mike Williams, Fargo City Commissioner, says, "and until the river really starts to flow, the weather service doesn't give a deterministic forecast. So in the meantime we're making preparations for the worst. And we won't deploy until we have a good idea about what that level might be."
Reporter Andrea Hubbell will have more on the decision, tonight at ten.
