Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Locked out American Crystal workers are casting their 5th ballot today.
It's for the same contract they've rejected 4 times before, but the vote gets closer each time.
This is the fifth time locked out workers are voting on this contract, they have rejected it every other time. But now it has been 20 months of the lockout, and that has been difficult for some workers and their families.
Becki Jacobson- Locked-Out Worker: "Yeah, it's been tough, I've picked up little odd jobs here and there just to get some food on my table and pay my bills, but I would love to have a full-time job."
Becki Jacobson voted no for the fifth time.
She says the deal has not changed in any meaningful way since it was first offered back in 2011.
Jacobson: "The company is not negotiating. I don't know why we're voting on the same thing over and over. They need to offer us something we can accept."
Regardless, the margins have grown closer with each vote.
Workers gave a resounding no when they first voted in 2011, 96% rejected the contract.
But with the most recent vote in December, that number fell to 55%.
How they will vote this time is anyone's guess.
John Riskey- BCTGM Local 167G President: "It's been a rollercoaster ride and it's hard to say where they're going to go. It's a tough time to gauge where the people are at."
