Police are investigating 2 armed robberies

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Police are investigating 2 armed robberies that happened within two hours of one another early this morning.

They're looking into if the two are connected.

The first robbery happened here at the Petro Serve USA off South University around 5 this morning. 2 Male suspects walked in, threatened they had a weapon, and demanded money.

Sargent Bill Ahlfeldt says suspects in the first robbery are described as two black men. Both had some type of scarf or shirt over their faces. Both fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

SGT. Bill Ahlfeld- Fargo Police: “There were no weapons displayed at either robbery, but threat of a weapon was done at both robberies.”

The second robbery happened shortly after 7 at the West Acres All-Stop on 13th Avenue South.

One suspect, also described as a black male walked in, said he had a weapon, and demanded money.

Ahlfeld: That male then ran out of the business on foot. We conducted a K-9 track, which led to some tire tracks in the snow, so it appears that he drove away.

Police are still investigating to see if the two incidents are related.

Ahlfeld: The two happened very short time period between one another, i'd imagine that they are.

Katie Haugen is a waitress here at Randy's Diner on University. She got to work just before 6 this morning.

Katie Haugen- Waitress, Randy’s Diner: We noticed the cops were back in the parking lot there looking around with flashlights and stuff, they had a K-9 unit here.

Haugen has worked at the diner for 7 years. She says there's never been any trouble before.

Haugen: I kind of knew one day it would probably happen, so it's a little scary, and it's kind of scary knowing that I come here early in the morning and it's dark and that could happen to me one day.

Now After the morning commotion Haugen says she'll keep an extra eye out when walking into work

No one was injured in the robberies.
