First grader gets to be "pilot for a day"

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- What a day for a St. Thomas first grader who got "top-gun" treatment at the Air Guard in Fargo.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- What a day for a St. Thomas first grader who got "top-gun" treatment at the Air Guard in Fargo.

Sam was a guest of the Happy Hooligans as part of its "pilot for a day" program. Sam just finished chemotherapy for a rare and aggressive cancer of the abdomen.

In addition to being promoted to General with the Hooligans, Sam was able to hop inside a C-21 and become a pilot for the guard.

The Glasston, North Dakota boy also got the "red carpet treatment" from firefighters with the Hooligans.

Melissa Green Samuel’s Mom: “Samuel is a really sweet boy he works hard, he is a good sweet boy, a kind boy we are thankful for this opportunity we have a permanent smile on our face.”

Samuel also was given his own flight suit today.
