Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Minnesota Senator Klobuchar is pushing for a bill to help discharged veterans get better benefits.

The Service Members Mental Health Review Act would return health care and benefits to thousands of veterans who were wrongfully discharged.

Klobuchar says as many as 31-thousand veterans have been impacted in the last ten years.

Many were diagnosed with "personality disorders", instead of service related problems like PTSD.

SEN. Amy Klobuchar- (D) Minnesota: “Our job is to stand up for you, our promises were made. When you decided to serve, you made a promise to serve us, and we should make a promise to serve you when you return and that's what this really about today.”

She says the bill has gained support from other Senators across the country.
