DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – A woman found dead Wednesday in an apartment on the 900 block of Washington Avenue here was identified Thursday as 69-year-old Geraldine Alma Kading, of rural Dent.

Kading was killed by "arrow injures to the chest," according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police Chief Tim Eggebraaten said officers responded to a request just before 3 p.m. to check on the welfare of a person.

A man, 56-year-old David Lee Stensrud of Detroit Lakes was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.
