Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The city of Fargo has approved hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional flood protection.
Some of the major items include $100,000 worth of trap bags for the Oak Creek neighborhood as well as about $60,000 in new sewer valves that will be installed there to help with drainage.
Commissioners also okayed emergency rapid deploy installation, emergency traffic control, and gage deployment to name a few.
April Walker, Fargo Engineer: “It puts all of the resources we would need for any of those plans, the 40 foot, the 42 foot, at our fingertips, so that when the deterministic comes, we can go. We don't have to wait. We've identified the contractors, we've notified them, they're on standby, and they're ready to go.”
Most of the projects are dependent on the upcoming deterministic forecast.
