Polk County has declared a flood emergency. It's a move to make sure resources are available for people fighting this year's flood.

While there are no major flooding problems in Crookston or East Grand Forks, the county is concerned about rural residents who do not have protection.

Commissioners are also concerned about the damage to township roads.

Commissioners say many township roads are being used as detours and receiving high traffic at a time when they area soft and easy to damage.
