Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- Health officials are asking all vulnerable people living in Cass and Clay counties to sign up for an emergency evacuation registry.
The registry is geared to make assistance during disasters, like the possible flood, easier for public health and emergency workers.
Anyone with a disability or health issues, people who are homeless, or elderly without any friends or family, or those with behavioral or social challenges can sign up at anytime.
That way responders can be aware of each person's situation in order to assist them.
Doug Murphy - Emergency Preparedness Coordinator: “We want to be able to be prepared so that if an area of town were to be evacuated we'd know that there are individuals there who aren't able to get out on their own and we are able to then communicate with them or contact them or see if they need assistance in being evacuated.”
People living in Cass County may call 701-476-4016; in Clay county call 218-299-5220.
