Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Exactly 320 riders hopped on stationary bikes in East Grand Forks this morning for more than just exercise.

Riders are raising money for families with special needs children. It's the Altru Spin for Kids race.

There are 40 teams in all, with eight riders to a team. Each member rides for 20 minutes. Prizes are dished out to teams with the most miles and pledges.

Maureen Riley says, "I always say it's the world's greatest adrenaline rush."

Jessica Strand says, "We're helping to raise money for children for things that insurance doesn't cover. There are a lot of expenses that some of these families face."

Organizers are hoping to raise about $75,000 this year.
