BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's Senate has endorsed a measure that would set aside a portion of the state's oil and gas production tax to a wildlife conservation fund.

The Senate approved the measure 33-12 Thursday. North Dakota's House endorsed the measure in February.

The measure would provide up to $15 million in a fiscal year for the so-called North Dakota Outdoor Heritage Fund.

Backers say revenue from the fund is meant to provide access to private and public lands and develop fish and wildlife habitat.
