Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Thousands of sandbags continue to be pumped out of sandbag central in north Fargo, but they could use more volunteers.

Nearly 300 8th graders from Carl Ben Eielson were on hand filling sandbags. Yesterday 110,000 sandbags were made. The goal is to fill 100,000 each day. Fargo and Cass County have a goal of 1 million sandbags by next weekend. The Carl Ben kids turned out 72,000 bags and the latest total for the day is 100,000.

Bruce Grubb, Sandbag Central Coordinator: “Being able to handle 300 at any given time we could use double or triple the numbers that we got pre-registered, so we would like to certainly encourage any and all volunteers that are available.”

You can volunteer to fill sandbags by calling 476-4000.
