Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The UND hockey season came to a screeching halt Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Yale stunned North Dakota to the tune of 4 third period goals to eliminate UND in the region final, denying Dave Hakstol a 6th trip to the Frozen Four.

This was the 2nd straight year that UND lost a game away from the ultimate goal, and for a team loaded with experience the loss was too much.

Dave Hakstol – UND Head Coach: “We didn't leave the rink for at least a couple hours after the game. Much of that was do to a few of the guys having trouble taking the jersey off for the last time. These guys mean a lot to the program. They should be very proud of everything they've done, and all the success they’ve had here and what they've done to build our program.”

UND graduates 6 players from this team, including 2 Hobey Baker finalists in Danny Kristo and Corbin Knight.
