City crews are doing whatever work they can before the flood

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- We're on the verge of the 2013 flood fight getting into gear, and city crews are doing whatever work they can beforehand.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- We're on the verge of the 2013 flood fight getting into gear, And city crews are doing whatever work they can beforehand.

In Fargo and West Fargo, public works crews are removing large snow piles.

They're also steaming frozen inlets to make sure standing water drains.

A spokesperson for the department in West Fargo says it's all about driver safety and standing puddles can be a hazard.

Chris Brungardt - West Fargo Public Works: "They can go out there with a front end loader and move everything off the catch basins and then they come out with the steam boiler and steam them open with steam."

Brungardt says his crews are nearly done.
