Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- There is no April Foolin' when it comes to this. A year ago, we hit a record 73-degrees. The ground bare. Crops in.
This is the time of year Snowbirds return to the valley after a little fun in the sun. Most are used to coming home to clear driveways and lawns, not this. And one Fargo couple had another surprise.
"So we see these legs and these boots and we thought what the heck, who's laying there?"
"I said what is going on someone is pulling a prank on us."
When Shirley and Orville Slusher got into Fargo from sunny Mesa, Arizona.
A little tongue in cheek humor from the next door neighbor.
Orville: "we realized it was a joke and read the t-shirt"
A stuffed man with his head firmly planted in the feet of snow still covering the Slusher's front yard. The mannequin even wore an old flood shirt.
"Those guys are nuts around here, but it's been a long time since we've seen this much snow in our yard."
But the neighbors, Bob and Gloria Danielson were caught red-handed. Their laughter gave them away.
Bob: "I sent her pictures of snow banks just a few days ago for what they'd come back to."
April Fools indeed. But our never ending winter is hardly worth a laugh anymore.
Gloria: "You have to have some fun when winter is long."
Just so the Slushers know what they left. Mesa, Arizona this afternoon? 75-degrees.
