Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Some much needed help will come from Students with The Fargo School District.

8th graders from each of the three middle schools will be volunteering. There are 302 students from Discovery, 236 from Carl Ben Eielson, and 237 from Ben Franklin who will be volunteering.

Each class will volunteer two days each. School officials say this is a good way for students to learn outside of school.

Business manager with the Fargo Public Schools, Broc Lietz, says, "teachers and the administration really view it as a civic lesson as well for our students to show them how they can help out and do their part for the city, so it's been beneficial for the kids, for Fargo Public Schools, and for the city as well."

Students in grades 9 through 12 will be used to sandbag.
