Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- For the second time in less than a month, Moorhead Police have seized medicinal marijuana.
It's not the largest seizure of medical marijuana Moorhead police have made, that one was more than 30-pounds. However, authorities say this bust is proof that more of it is coming into the Midwest.
Police arrested 25-year old Andrew Seeley on suspicion of selling medical marijuana. They seized 5-pounds of pot, believed to have been grown by a person licensed in California. Also confiscated, 5-thousand dollars in cash, a 9 millimeter pistol and a .270 caliber rifle. Authorities say they have seen a rise in medicinal marijuana cases.
Lt. Tory Jacobson/Moorhead Police: " Clearly large quantities are coming into the metro area here. Our investigators are busy trying to stomp that out and identify the people that are trafficking and distributing this marijuana."
Currently Seeley is being held in the Clay County Jail - facing multiple charges. Police are asking California authorities to assist with the investigation.
Seeley is charged with felony 5th degree controlled substance possession and distribution - a felony for ineligibly possessing a firearm and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Police say the two pot busts in March are NOT related.
