Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- If you take a look up at the skies this week, you might spot a rather "big" bird in the skies.

Endangered whooping cranes are in the midst of their spring migration. The 5 feet tall birds have a wingspan of about 7 feet.

The state Game and Fish Department is asking anyone who spots one of the birds to report the sighting to state or federal wildlife officials so the birds can be tracked.

They usually fly alone or in small groups.
