JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has ordered the owner of a Jamestown store that allegedly sold counterfeit brand-name merchandise to stop doing business

The cease-and-desist order is against Adrian Williams and Spotlight Clothing & Accessories. A call to the store on Friday rang unanswered. A home telephone listing for Williams in Jamestown could not immediately be found.

Stenehjem says his consumer protection division also determined that the store had been operating since last November but had not registered with the secretary of state's office, as required by law.

He says Williams could face both criminal and civil penalties.
