Fargo South baseball feeling woes of spring snow

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - There's no question we are all spoiled last year with the weather in March. No group enjoyed it more than high school athletics in the area. But this year, it appears we better get used to scenes like this: spring sports practicing indoors for the forseeable future.

With around two feet of snow still on the ground, sports like baseball, which had games scheduled for next week, will be wearing tennis shoes, not spikes, for a while. A couple years ago, South didn't play its first game until April 19th.

Donny Bryant, South Head Coach: “Last year was an anomaly, so this year's gonna be tough. We're gonna get backed up. We focus a lot on fundamentals in the gym. Look to go to parking lots and throw long catch.”

Aaron Green, South Sr. Centerfielder: “It's not too bad. We can have more individualized work and more arm care exercises. More individualized running and conditioning and stuff like that too as well.”

EDC baseball games were slated to begin this coming Monday.
