Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - It's something that many people can't truly comprehend, going to war. A Colorado filmmaker is hoping to change that.

Larry Cappetto has spent the last 10 years interviewing war veterans across America compiling nearly 1,000 interviews into a documentary entitled, "Lest They Be Forgotten."

Cappetto's interest in war began at an early age. His father served in the Korean War and his uncle in World War II.

Now, he's taking his stories into schools. This morning, he spoke to Oak Grove Lutheran School.

Larry Cappetto, Filmmaker: “One 13-year-old in Colorado recently told me this isn't a video game, this is real. When someone kills somebody it changes you. He says I'm so blessed that I have the freedom to go home every day.”

If you're interested in hearing Cappetto's story he'll be sharing it tonight at Olivet Lutheran Church and tomorrow at Fargo North and South High Schools.
