Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Early education has been shown to have benefits throughout a child's life and the educators who see those benefits firsthand feel strongly about their worth.

Moorhead educators met with Minnesota Education Comissioner Brenda Cassellius today.

They discussed the state of those programs and the Governor's budget, which proposes an $84 million investment in early education. That includes funding for scholarships and all-day kindergarten.

Brenda Cassellius, MN Education Commissioner: "A child has one childhood and it's now. There's no do-overs. We have to give it to kids now like we had it when our parents did it for us."

They also touched on issues of bullying, special education, and sequestration.
