Valley City, ND (WDAY TV) - The North Dakota winter sports season just wrapped up over the weekend that had four different tournaments spread out all over the state. Those tourneys may not be so spread out in the future.

The North Dakota High School Activities Association plans on taking a look at putting some tournaments at permanent sites. The association cited in its last meeting the amount of money that's been lost at tournaments over the past year as reason to at least talk about keeping some events in certain spots.

Sherm Sylling – NDSHAA Executive Secretary: “Tournament sites have been a contentious issue for the 14 years I've been involved and before that. For a number of years we've tried to be politically correct and move these tournaments around as we become not the only game in town. There are some financial considerations that need to be considered in the future. So, we have a move toward more permanent sites. There's also down sides to that.”

One event that will be moving from a permanent site is Hockey in 2015 from Grand Forks to Fargo.
