Fort Meyers, FL (WDAY TV) - They've been the talk of the nation over the past three days - tiny Florida Gulf Coast - the first 15 seed to make the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament.

There is a local connection to the Eagles, former Moorhead standout Kelsey Jacobson. She led the women's team to the tournament last year. Jacobson, who is the school's all-time 3 point leader still lives near Fort Myers and says the last few days have been off the charts....

Kelsey Jacobsen – Florida Gulf Coast Alum: “I'm not going to lie. I'm very proud alum. I just kind of want to go say it on top of a mountain, ‘I just graduated from FGCU. That's my school,’ but, I'm just proud of the guys. Those are my buddies that are playing out of their minds right now. I just know how hard they worked to get to where they are. I got chills. It was something else. The support that came out to watch, it was packed. People were screaming and when the boys came out the place went nuts.”

FGCU plays Florida in the Sweet 16 Friday.
