South Dakota man pulls off emergency landing near Jamestown

Jamestown, ND (WDAY TV) - Authorities are investigating after a plane had to make an emergency landing in a snowy field near Jamestown.

Jamestown, ND (WDAY TV) - Authorities are investigating after a plane had to make an emergency landing in a snowy field near Jamestown.

Forty-six year-old Keith Melius of Faulkton, South Dakota made a successful landing and wasn't injured. He put the plane down about 1:45 Tuesday afternoon a half mile south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and N.D. Highway 46.

Highway Patrol says the 1978 Cessna 172 was having mechanical problems in the engine. The extent of damage to the plane has not yet been determined.
