Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-- A Minnesota lawmaker is in town speaking out against the Governor's tax plan.
Minnesota's House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt is touring the state, stopping in Moorhead just a day after Governor Dayton made a visit. Daudt voiced his concerns about Dayton's proposed tax plan that he says includes $1.8 billion dollars in harmful tax increases.
With the main goal of coming up with a balanced budget, Daudt believes tax increases for Minnesotans aren't necessary.
St. Rep. Kurt Daudt - Minnesoat House Minority Leader: "The state will see more revenue and it will be a win for all Minnesotans. Unfortunately the Governor's budget picks winners and losers and frankly it will be a setback for Minnesota's economy and it will hurt job growth in Minnesota."
Daudt says Dayton's plans would make Minnesota one of the top states for taxes.
