West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The West Fargo School District is looking to add 50 or more teachers next fall.

Right now, the board is discussing whether or not they can approve the request for their booming district. Just last year, schools grew by 570 children, and next year, they expect another three to four hundred more.

Soon, West Fargo plans to open a new middle school and add another high school. Which means, the district needs the additional staff.

David Flowers, West Fargo Superintendent, says, "We are actually being conservative in this request to the board. Because we do not know what our funding stream will look like from the legislature. So we're being cautious at this point."

The district pin points the cost of new staff at about 2 point 6 million dollars.
