FARGO – North Dakota State University police are asking people to step forward with any information about a sexual assault reported Sunday night on campus.

The victim reported that a white man wearing a blue ski mask approached her in the HR parking lot on campus about 8:30 p.m., and then forced her into a large passenger vehicle. She said the suspect then drove her to another location, assaulted her, and returned her to the parking lot.

No weapon was reportedly used.

NDSU police say there is no further description of the vehicle, and the investigation is ongoing. They’re asking anyone with more information to call university police at (701) 231-8998, or the NDSU police tip line at (701) 526-6006. Tips can also be sent to ndsu.police.safety@ndsu.edu.

NDSU police said they believe there is no immediate or continued threat to the campus community.

They remind campus members about safety precautions such walking with a buddy, avoiding contact with strangers and reporting suspicious individuals or situations immediately to law enforcement. Campus police also offer a 24-7 escort service.
