Thirteen-year-old Taylor Roehl outlasted nearly 100 other spellers to win the state bee last Friday. She correctly spelled her final word, "debenture," to beat Noah Heuchert, of St. Thomas.

Last year's state winner, Ty Korsmo, finished third this year.
