Legacy Children's Foundation helps local students

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Students involved with the Legacy Children's Foundation in Fargo are telling their story of struggle to success.

Students had lunch with mentors and volunteers to tell them how the foundation has improved their lives. The foundation helps students struggling in school to get motivated about getting good grades and succeeding.

The program is modeled like a job where students involved attend study sessions each week, and participate in service projects as volunteers. Students involved say they aren't sure if they would graduate school without the program.

Mary Sem, 7th grader, says, "it means a lot to us because sharing our stories with other people would help them give back and we want people to give back not to just receive."
