Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The owners of a local restaurant and furniture store are showing generosity to study participants booted from PRACS after it closed Wednesday.

The research facility's sudden closure meant many study participants were not compensated for their time. Maxwell's and Artisan Home Furnishings are each giving a 50-dollar gift card to those people.

They say several people have already picked them up.

Mike Marcil, Maxwell's owner, says, "kind of an emotional thing for our staff and also for those participants. But we've also had employees that have come and been very supportive of us supporting the community."

Those who come in for the gift cards just have to show their Pracs paperwork.
