Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Communities in Fargo have the chance to speak out about the school district's long-range facilities plan.

Tonight marked the first meeting for Fargo's Community Long Range Facility Task Force made up of 27 members representing the district, and local schools and neighborhoods. The meeting is one of many that will aim to address concerns about the future of the district.

Some worried that its older schools may be shut down, due to growing costs and enrollment numbers.

Dr. Jeff Schatz, Fargo Schools Superintendent: “We have some significant challenges in our district that we need to address, so I think the more we can engage the community in that process, I think a better solution will be found, and then something we can all engage in for the future.”

Schatz says it will be a long collaborative process until the district decides on specific solutions.
