NDSU represented well at the NCAA Wrestling Championships

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The NCAA wrestling championships got underway this morning in Des Moines. NDSU sent its biggest contingent to date as four wrestlers qualified; three returners; including Trent Sprenkle and Stephen Monk.
Each of them were one win away from All-American status last year and each won this afternoon. Sprenkle took care of Tyler Iwamura at 125 pounds 4-1 to advance to tonight's second round.
While Monk at 165 pounds defeated Tyler Wilps 4-1 from Pittsburgh and he moves on to the round of 16.
Other results had Perham's Mac Stoll falling 8-0; while West Fargo native Scott Schiller took his opening match for the Gophers. Evan Knutson from NDSU lost by sudden victory in heavyweight.
