Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Despite the massive piles of snow everywhere, it's that time of year. Time to think about spring cleaning. And to help, cleaning has gone hi-tech because there's an app for that.

People have looked to Brightnest online for years to help with organizing and home maintenance. Now, just in time for spring cleaning, all those tips are in a free and easy to use app for your iPhone.

Brightnest just launched Monday.

Here's how it works, you sign in and tell the app things like how you live, the type of home you have and the size of your family.

Based on that information, the app personalizes tips and articles for you to organize, simplify and add creativity to your life and home.

It can show you how bananas can make your home better, how to save a dying plant, has some great spot removers and tells you how you can freshen up your old pillow and towels.

And it's not just cleaning, Brightnest can show you how to make any room look bigger, how to save money (up to $300 a year by making your own laundry soap), and gives you decorating tips, some ideas for your old wine bottles or displaying your jewelry.

You can also schedule those bigger home tasks for days or months down the road and Brightnest will remind you when to get them done.

And if you're looking to lose a few pounds, it can show you can burn 450 calories when you clean our house.

Brightnest is free in the Apple store.
