UND Basketball team prepares for tournament play

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - About six weeks into the season, playoff basketball seemed the furthest thing possible for Brian Jones and his UND team. Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - About six weeks into the season, playoff basketball seemed the furthest thing possible for Brian Jones and his UND team. After getting his top player back after missing nine games with injury, North Dakota turned it around, going 12-8 in its first year in the Big Sky and earned an at-large berth to the CIT.

They'll see a familiar face there; Northern Iowa; a team that beat UND by 25 points back in December. Jones now has his full team for this matchup.

Brian Jones – UND Head Basketball Coach: “We’re just excited to play a team we played early in the year, and didn’t play very well down in their building. So, it’s just a chance to play them again and play better. That’s the challenge we do have against a team that’s done an unbelievable job in the Missouri Valley Conference and a team that we’ve had the experience playing in the last couple of years.”

The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday night, but has been moved to Wednesday night because of weather. It’s a 7 PM tip in Cedar Falls.
