Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- This year's St. Patrick's day festivities were a breeze for law enforcement compared to last.
Police say they saw about 20 fewer arrests over the weekend. Compared to the holiday weekend a year ago. And calls for service were down by about 60.
This year, law enforcement made 12 D-U-I arrests, 7 drug related arrests, and 5 domestic assault arrests. They say the big decrease comes after a big drop in temperatures.
Sgt. Jason Larson with the Fargo Police says, "we see a down tick in crimes of opportunity and things like that when it's cold out. Once the bar crowd goes outside at closing time, we don't have people lingering around downtown til 3, 4 o'clock in the morning."
Police say they did have more officers out patrolling, just in case.
