Jamestown beats Mandan for fifth place

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Kyra Dewald scored 22 points to lead Jamestown to a 48-40 win over Mandan Saturday in the fifth-place game at the North Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Kyra Dewald scored 22 points to lead Jamestown to a 48-40 win over Mandan Saturday in the fifth-place game at the North Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament.

Dewald made 6 of 12 three-pointers and shared the team lead with four steals. The Blue Jays (19-6) forced 22 turnovers leading to 15 points.

Paige Peterson had eight points and four steals to lead Jamestown with a game-high 11 rebounds.

JaeLyn Russel was the only Mandan (13-12) player in double figures with 17 points. She had all three of the Braves' three-pointers.
