Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A Fargo surgeon acquitted of drugging and sexually assault his wife is awarded custody in the couple's divorce case.
Just months after walking away from a lengthy criminal trial. Dr. Jon Norberg finds out he will get to keep his three children. Norberg and his ex-wife, Dr. Alonna Norberg's divorce case just wrapped up, where he was granted primary custody.
Alonna Norberg will get "reasonable parenting time."
The judge decided Jon Norberg will also receive more than 1-million dollars in assets and more than 1 million dollars in debts, and will get to keep the couple's home, currently in foreclosure.
Jon Norberg says, "I'm just glad that the nightmare is finally over and that my kids and i can now move forward and Judge Marquarts orders show clearly beyond any question that Alonnas false claims were just an attempt to gain an advantage in the divorce."
Ellison says, "We are hopeful that with the resolution of both the criminal proceedings and this divorce proceeding that the Norberg family can begin the healing process."
Dr. Norberg says his next step is to try to get his medical license back.
Both Alonna Norberg and her attorney did not return phone calls.
